Question:
Is the BREMBO 15RCS delivered with the short lever?
July / 30 / 2011
Answer:
This master cylinder use a lever which is shorter than the 19RCS lever and which has also a different shape, a closer angle if you watch the pictures.
Question:
Do you have short lever model ? If you have it. Is it same price. And Please teach parts code.
January / 16 / 2012
Answer:
15 RCS already comes with a short lever. There is not a shorter lever since the lever is the shorter available.
Question:
Which is the correct answer on previous questions?Standard lever or short lever ? Can you please provide accurate lever length, can we use this brake system on rally raid bike where roadbook switch has to go between master cylinder and bar grip? So what is the correct lever length?Thank You
June / 19 / 2012
Answer:
The lever that comes with this master cylinder is long 180mm, the half lever is long 128mm. The lever that comes with 19RCS is long 205mm and its half lever is long 155mm. Reagrding the opportunity of placing a switch between grip and master cylinder I can't reply but telling that I never saw such a way to install a switch. Usually the are switched using the thumb and therefore it is natural to place the switch inside the bar, after the master cylinder.

Question:
Hello, I have a Buell 1125CR and although it has a single perimeter disc, it has an 8 piston caliper. Would you recommend the 15RCS or 19RCS?
March / 20 / 2013
Answer:
For your Buell there is not the Right RCS: 15RCS has a smaller diameter than the stock master cylinder but it is radial, 19RCS is bigger than stock mc and it is radial. If I have to suggest one I will suggest 19RCS because your Buell has a big engine, a 6 pistons caliper and a large disk.
Question:

Question:
Dear Carpimoto, I understood Panigale has a 16mm diameter master cylinder (pls confirm). I crashed and now the pump leaks. Do you think the 15RCS would be suitable for the panigale M50 calipers (track use)? thanks.
December / 02 / 2013
Answer:
For Panigale since now we sold 19RCS, but Brembo has developed a dedicated RCS with a 17mm diameter piston because they checked that M50 works better with 17mm. I recommend to wait or to choose 19RCS.
Question:

Question:
Hey Carpimoto team! I do own a MY '14 Tuono V4 R APRC ABS and was wondering if this MC will fit my bike? Indeed, it seems that 19RCS is not compliant with Aprilia ABS models and I did only find another relevant source listing the 15RCS for the RSV4 ABS models, but nothing for the Tuono ABS. This same source announced me that the brake line needs to be worked out on the Tuono ABS because Aprilia runs a hard brake line mixed with flexible sections, and nobody makes one. Would it exist an adaptater to be able to install the 15RCS with the stock brake lines? Or what lines would I need to overcome this issue? Thank you!
September / 03 / 2014
Answer:
15RCS is not the right mc, you can use 17RCS or 19RCS using our universal adaptor.
Question:
I would have totally agreed a day ago, but now after I've read some thread I would not take a chance with the ABS model. These guys after purchasing your product did have a bad surprise when checking with their local dealer and Piaggio representatives as regards the setup ... Feel free to have a look: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?287193-Brembo-19RCS-Master-cylinder-Warning!!! Other treads were saying the same, sharing the same experience. And these people are not lurking around on the forums like somewhere else, really full of useful information.
September / 03 / 2014
Answer:
What is written about 19RCS warning in the Aprilia forum thread is not correct. Brembo has tested several ABS systems and finally wrote to their dealers (like us) that what matters ABS system is not the master cylinder but the calipers. This is not the right place to explain how a ABS system works, but I can explain it in few and simple words: the ABS unit close and open an hydraulic circuit based on a Fluid volume quantity, if the quantity of Brake fluid that has to be stoppped and realesed changes, the ABS system will not work as should be. Fluid quantity will not change if you change the master cylinder because from a 14mm up to a 19mm the fluid difference is really small; when you change the calipers you change the caliper pistons diameters and therefore the volume of the brake fluid in the circuit. A different quantity of brake fluid will cause problems to ABS, not a different type of master cylinder, not a bigger master cylinder, only different calipers.
Question:
First of all, sorry for spamming you ... In addition to my previous email, I agree that the 17 RCS seems to be a better match in term of piston diameter with the Tuono ABS model (M432 - 32 mm), and you certainly know it way better than me. My only concern is for the ABS stuff, would it still be ok with the 17 RCS fitted?Again thank you!
September / 03 / 2014
Answer:
Yes, On ABS equipped motorcycles you can change the master cylinder, you can't change calipers.

Hello, could you advise for my KTM SMC 690R 2015 is 15 RCS brake m/c and 16 RCS clutch m/c right choice or not, please.
February / 01 / 2016
Answer:
For brake 15RCS is OK. Clutch: as far I know your bike uses a Magural mineral oil 11mm master cylinder therefore you can't use a Brembo DOT4 mc.
Question:
Thank you very much, but sorry, if I change mineral oil to DOT4 will it work (16 RCS m/c ) with existing slave cylinder or I need to change it also. Thank one more time.
February / 02 / 2016

If you use DOT4 with your slave you will destroy the internal seal rings. To use the RCS you should change slave and clutch line.

Question:
I have a 2007 KTM 950 SM. I am converting the bike to an adventure style motorcycle riding 50/50 dirt street. My front wheel is a 19" and my rear is a 17".. I am running a single rotor and single 4 piston stock caliper. Which master cylinder would be correct for full feel.? 15rcs or 14rcs? Thanks!
March / 07 / 2017
Answer:
Premise: usually on dirt bikes the mc has an integrated reservoir, it is safer when you ride in the dirt, in a wood or for light crashes. I would use then a PS15 or PS16 that have integrated reservoir. If you want to installa RCS , I recommend 15RCS . Also note that you can't use handguards with RCS because the lever could be too close to the guard.
Question:
Hi just wondering if the rsc 14 front brake would work for a 4 piston beringer supermoto caliper?

April / 28 / 2017
Answer:
Hi, you need brake lines adaptor 170101. You can choose 15RCS, perfect for road use, or 17RCS, more powerful, the best choice for track use. Regarding brake pads we suggest you 07HO30SC. These have a racing compound, good for road sporty use and for track use.

Question:
Hi. I have a Yamaha V-MAX 1200 (Model-2007) without ABS. Which master cylinder and/or caliper should I get for a total upgrade of the brake system for both ( front and rear brake system). Thank you.
July / 31 / 2020
Answer:
We don't have a total upgrade kit, for this request you shall ask a mechanic able to produce supporting brackets for new calipers. The stock calipers btw are not so bad, then we would recommend to change master cylinder, for example with a 17RCS or a Nissin 17, then new performing pads.
Question:
Hi, could you explain why floating calipers should not be combined with a rcs17 or rcs19? I have floating calipers on my sv650, but want to upgrade the master for track use. Some people use the rsc19 nonetheless without issues. I am wondering what the explanation behind not using these is.
July / 31 / 2020
Answer:
Because floating calipers are two pistons caliper therefore the sum of two calipers is 4 pistons = one single caliper, therefore the recommended master cylinder size is 15 or 16 mm.

Question:
Hello Carpimoto:The Master Cylinder of my EU KTM duke 690 R '2014 fails. Now all the braking system is the original one. I think that it has a single radial caliper M50 with 4 small pistons of 30 mm. It has ABS system. Original MC is 13 mm, but i am not sure of this. I usually use 2 fingers to brake. And in my opinión the original system was rather soft. I use hand guards but i think that i can modify one guard. Mainly use of my bike is on road. Maybe ocasional not racing on track Riding.Which is my RCS MC? Do i need something else to adapt RCS MC on my bike? What brand of DOT4 brake fluid is recomended?lThank you....
December / 24 / 2020
Answer:
The stock master cylinder is Brembo 10B29121, radial 15x19 . If you are not satisfied the upgrade is 17RCS . You just need a bracket to hold the brake fluid reservoir and a mirror clamp. For Sport Street use we recommend Motul 5.1 or Brembo DOT 4 .

Bike is used mostly on the street and occasionally for track days. Also what would be your brake pad recommendation? Thanks
March / 18 / 2021
Answer:
15 vs 14mm is a small diameter step , 15 radial vs 14 axial is good step forward in braking performance , will be a good choice. Pads: you can choose Brembo 07HO30SC or 07HO30SR .

Italjet has an upgrade set for the Italjet Dragster 200 scooter but expensive to buy from them. It contains 2 bake levers (14RCS and 15RCS) and additional items. Can you tell me which item numbers are used in this kit ? There are many different item numbers for these :14RCS 110A26365 110A26345 15RCS110A89730110A26330110A26320110C74030 corseAnd I suppose it needs 45ml reservoir for front brake and 15ml for rear brake ?Thank you
March / 15 / 2022
Answer:
We have no idea which is the kit BUT we know which are the matching master cylinders : on left side you can only use 14RCS 110A26365 , therefore on right the matching is 110A26330 = 15RCS long lever. Yoi can use both 15cc on both sides pay attention to the brake level or use 45 + 15 .
Question:

Question:
What do you recommend to improve brake feeling in stock Husqvarna FS450? Stock setup is 310mm(5mm) disc, M50 caliper and Brembo 15/18 MC. Case is that feeling of brake is very poor, you have to squeez lever a lot to get enough braking but worst is that it lacks feeling. I read that this stock MC is quite poor quality and even changing for 15RCS make a difference. What do you recommend 15RCS, 14RCS or maybe 16x16CNC?
April / 27 / 2023
Answer:
Since the stock master cylinder is 15mm you can't use a smaller piston, in any case the min piston diameter is 15mm. The correct mc for your use is 16x18 (for example Brembo XR01131 or 10476080 or 10476082), you can also use a 15RCS. You need also racing brake pads .
Question:

Question:
Hi, i have kawasaki Versys 1000, 2017. I need to upgrade stock 14mm axial brake master cylinder. It is good choice and possible?
February / 04 / 2024
Answer:
No matter on which motorcycle, Switch from 14mm to 15mm for sure it is a good upgrade. Please note for every motorcycle that comes with oem handguards we do not provide compatibility for any master cylinder, because the lever could be too long or too wide , therefore the lever could not be pulled.
